We all rely on different forms of energy to get us through our day -- from the calories available in the food we eat to the gasoline used to run our car engines. While our consumption of food and oil can be appreciated, electrical energy is typically taken for granted. Electricity is part of every American’s lifestyle, serving us nearly every minute of every day and embedded in the products and services we buy and sell. Yet most people are unaware of how electricity is produced, managed, and delivered ... and the resulting impacts conventional electric power sources have placed on our environment. Learning more about wind energy must start with a basic understanding of where we get electricity and the resulting environmental, price, and supply security challenges of our current energy supply mix. There are many web sites purporting the benefits or problems of wind energy, but some unfortunately present misleading information. We ask that you carefully consider a web site’s underlying agenda and sources of information before relying on their information:
We have provided information below and links to web sites and reports that we hope meet these criteria. Wind Works LLC welcomes any comments or feedback on this information.
